Against the backdrop of the rapid development of automotive intelligent driving technology, cameras, as key components for environmental perception, their performance directly affects the accuracy of vehicle's road condition judgment and decision-making safety. Prizmatics™-patented camera products developed by Prizm Optics have redefined the functional scope of automotive camera modules, enabling a single module to cover multiple scenarios.
In terms of functions, automotive camera modules have two core roles. Firstly, as the core carrier for all-round environmental perception, traditional cars need to deploy 4-6 cameras to achieve functions such as 360-degree surround view. However, the Quone module equipped with Prizmatics™ technology, through the integration of unique prism design and AI algorithms, can complete 360-degree dead-angle-free imaging with a single module, providing complete environmental data for the autonomous driving system. Secondly, as an efficient adapter for multi-scenario needs, to meet different requirements such as long-distance recognition of traffic lights and short-distance monitoring of oncoming vehicles from the side, Prizm's Quatrex dual-view synchronous module, through a single-module dual-optical path design, synchronously outputs images of different focal lengths, reducing the number of cameras and avoiding data splicing delays of multiple modules.
Such modules need to meet three technical requirements: stability in extreme environments, being able to cope with wide temperature fluctuations, vibrations and harsh weather, with lenses reducing glare interference; balance between high dynamic range and low latency, having a wide dynamic range of over 140dB and transmission latency controlled within 20ms; miniaturization and integration compatibility, with reduced volume and support for seamless connection with on-board controllers, compatible with on-board communication protocols.
